G-DRIVE mobile FireWire
6/21/2010 by Rick MacMerc

"Down to the cost and quality, the G-DRIVE mobile, like all drives I've ever had from G-Technology, is top tier and as such is a little bit more expensive than the run-of-the-mill portable FireWire drive. But at USD$149.99 with a 3-Year warranty, I think you're getting incredible value and dependability. This is a sweet little drive and belongs in your laptop case."

"The traditional entertainment industry used to use technology that was so expensive, only a select few could really produce content.  G-Tech hard drives are a great example of how the technology that drives the creative process is becoming more and more affordable for more and more people.  That kind of progress does wonders for creative culture in general – it makes companies like hitRECord.org possible."

If you want a nice simple drive to edit HD video with that provides lots of space and speed, the G-RAID3 is for you. It is light, simple to use, and durable. Great little unit. I lost faith in G-Tech a while back when the G-Raid2 had issues with daisy chaining the units (performance would drop from 65MB/s to 16MB/s), but this drive has returned my faith in the company and their products.
